Paneer Dopyaza Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 200 grams paneer (cottage cheese), cut into cubes
- 2 medium-sized onions, thinly sliced
- 2 medium-sized tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons oil or ghee (clarified butter)
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 2 green chilies, slit lengthwise
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1 tablespoon yogurt
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
Instructions:
1. Heat oil or ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them crackle.
2. Add thinly sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
3. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Sauté for another 2 minutes.
4. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
5. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
6. Add yogurt and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
7. Add paneer cubes and gently mix with the masala. Be careful not to break the paneer cubes.
8. Sprinkle garam masala powder and mix gently.
9. Cover the pan and simmer for 5 minutes on low heat, allowing the flavors to blend.
10. Finally, garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
11. Paneer dopyaza is ready to be served. Enjoy it with roti, naan, or rice.
Note: You can adjust the spice levels according to your taste preferences. Additionally, you can also add other vegetables like bell peppers, carrots, or peas to enhance the flavors and nutritional value.
