Ullitheeyal(small onion)
Ingredients
1. Small onion : 15 - 20nos.
2. Green chilly : 2 nos.
3. Coconut( grated) : 1 cup
4. Chilly powder : 1 tablespoon
5. Coriander powder : 1 1/2 spoon
6. Curry leaves : few
7. Salt : required quantity
8. Turmeric powder : 1/4 spoon
9. Tamarind : 1 small ball ( lemon size)
10. Coconut oil : 2 spoon
11. Mustard: 1/2 spoon
Preparation
Peel the small onion and clean with water. Cut it into small pieces. Take a bowl shape pan heat it. Then put grated coconut and 3 small onion and few curry leaves and fry it well until they becomes golden brown. Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, coriander powder and fry it again for a while. Take and grind it in the mixie by adding 1/2 cup water until it becomes paste. Take a bowl and add 1 cup water and tamarind to it and squeeze it. We get tamarind water. Take the same bowl shape pan and add coconut oil and when oil become hot, add mustard and curry leaves and then add cutted onion pieces and fry it for few minute. Add tamarind water and salt and cook for few minute. Then add grinded paste of coconut mixture and cook for a while. Add water if necessary. Add salt and boil it for few seconds. Turn off the gas . you can serve it with rice.
